The 44th Annual Y Race Phoenix is taking place on October 27th. In addition to a 5k and a half marathon, this year the race is offering a 1 mile fun-run that is free for kids.
Proceeds for the race will benefit the Strong Kids Campaign. The campaign helps the Y provide at-risk teens with mentors, medical and dental clinics for uninsured children, GED opportunity and job placement for disadvantaged kids, senior shut-in services, assistance for our neighbors who are physically disabled, diabetes prevention programs, weeks at camp for kids who have never left their challenged neighborhoods, child care so parents can work, and more.
For those that don’t know, the Y Race is a Lincoln Family Downtown Y event. The Lincoln Family Downtown Y will soon be celebrating it’s 120th anniversary.
The Y Race has recently updated their site to be more useful to those seeking information.
The Y Race will be held on October 27th, at South Mountain Park in Phoenix, AZ. The first group of runners will depart at 7am. Registration prices vary, and they change based on how close to the race you register, so register soon for the best discount!
